Well to those that don't know (non Instagram friends lol) I am on my annual visit to Texas again and I have been residing in the beautiful Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan area just relaxing, swimming, and networking with the individuals I have meet while at my Comfort Inn stay near DFW airport and life has been just grand.

Well I have officially reached that milestone ladies and gentlemen, yes I, Jonathon "Jayi" Kemp has reached the 30 year mark and boy did I bring it in, in dramatic fashion. I started off my partial week long celebration with a fifth of 1800 silver and ended with a broken driver side window and one less friend, but my life is good, so I won't complain.

 If  some would ever ask me, "Jayi" can you give me a visual of what America's "Melting Pot" would look like if you could see it, my rebuttal to them would be this; The Community Festival in Columbus, Ohio, AKA, the COMfest!  It is by far (in my opinion) the best representation of what America should be, it's peaceful, ecliptic, unashamed, pure fun and I personally love it! 

Power of the #Hashtag

I have been using Instagram for about 18 months now and I kid you not when I say this, I freaking love it!

It's hip, new, trendy, and all that stuff, but what I really adore about it is this, the freaking #Hashtag.

By being able to Hashtag your photos, your able to market your images to new audiences without annoyingly tagging people or businesses in your photos like on Facebook, which like I said before, is Freaking Awesome!!!

Last Friday I got the chance to check out my little sisters art show at Lourdes College and boy was I taken by her art exhibit!

Her art work was amazing and it surpassed my expectations, I knew she was a beast already with the art brush, but when I was able to bare witness to her versatility, I was left in utter amazement.

Well friends, this is my first post as a post - graduated, last Friday in front of a 1,000 people I went from a novice to a now expert in my chosen field of Graphic Design and it feels great!

Earlier this week I got the chance to take a little road trip down to our nations Capitol with my fellow photography friend Antwon and boy did we have a ball, we walked what was 6,274 steps around our nations national mall and seen some beautiful sites that he got to experience for the first time, and some that I got a chance to relieve.

Never before in my life have I ever seen a more visual portrait of unity in my hometown of Toledo, Ohio until I went to the annual Artomatic 419 on N. Summit st.

So I am never the one who likes to grow stagnant with the camera, I enjoy learning and applying new techniques when I come across something that peaks my interest and lately that has been bulb photography.

SMILE IT'S A PHOTO BOOTH ...

The one thing I never wanted to do in photography, was to limit my capabilities with the camera before I fully understood what I was doing behind the lens. Photography is fun to me, and I never want that to change. I love shooting, placing, and arranging people into the view of my lenses when I am shooting them, and when I am not doing candid photography at a events, I am usually shooting at a photo booth, and those are a blast!

SCENIC PHOTOGRAPHY (TOLEDO DAY)

It really should not had taken me almost 30 years to make it to Toledo Day, but honestly, I never knew when it was. For the longest I had assumed that Toledo Day was on 4/19, but after some consulting with friends and family (via Facebook), I found out that that was a myth! And just like the curious person I am, I got off the couch, grabbed my Canon T2i and shot some scenic photography using my 50 mm 1.4 lens while there.

Club photography is a ball, I love dealing with low light situations and rendering what I feel are awesome pictures, when I first started low light photography, I relied heavily on a speedlight to produce or shall I say compensate for the amount of natural light that was not there, but that is no longer the case ....

I love photography and have been freelancing as a amateur/professional photographer for the past 5 year now. When I first started off doing photography I did it because I was curious, I wanted to know how to take the beautiful photos I seen in JET, EBONY, VIBE, and other media publications, and because of this curiosity, I was very humble about photography.
